Graham Lustig's The Nutcracker Paramount Theatre - Oakland Theatre reviews
Fairly great until the end...
The lawn party pack (4 tickets for the price of 3) was a good deal. After seeing them two years ago after they had just gotten back together, this was a big downer, and I won't be paying to see them again. All the opening acts - local bands Arcade Fire and Dive and the upcoming sensation Skillet - put on good sets, especially Skillet (I'll be seeing them again, that's for sure). There was a LOT of pot smoking on the lawn though, so be forewarned - it was hard to find a spot that didn't smell. Graham Lustig's The Nutcracker did a lot to ruin the night however - Scott Weiland seemed to be either stoned or drunk out of his mind, and the music really suffered for it. The newly reunited Fuel sounded okay but didn't have much of a stage presence, while Three Days Grace and Alice in Chains were, in my friend's description, "epic."
